抄録

We herein report 3 cases of recurrence of varicella. All cases were diagnosed as varicella by direct immunofluorescence test. Scrapings from the undersurface of vesicles were positive for varicella-zoster virus (VZV)-specific antigen. Histological examination revealed interepidermal blisters and multinucleated cells. There were no zoster lesions and VZV titers measured by enzyme immunoassay (EIA) did not have the typical pattern of primary infection. All cases were effectively treated with antiviral agents, and vesicles disappeared in about a week.
