抄録

The utilization factor of energy in a geothermal power system is considered. A proposal is made to take the effectiveness as the utilization factor, based on the second law of thermodynamics. The effectivenesss found to be very useful as a utilization factor of geothermal energy, and it is suggested that the availability accounting is usefully employed in conjunction with the conventional energy accounting in obtaining data to find measures for improvement of the performance of a geothermal power plant.
