Counter-immunoelectrophoresis with anti-human Hb and -human serum was adopted for species identification of the blood stains aged about 60-700 years. All of these blood stains exhibited a positive reaction with anti-human Hb and -human serum. The minimum quantities of human blood stains for successful species identification were 3-100 μg.
