N2 - Recent advancements in Augmented Reality (AR) have led to increased focus on head-mounted or near-eye displays, but optical challenges such as limited field of view and small eye-box size persist. To address these, Holographic Optical Elements (HOEs) has emerged as a solution. However, conventional AR glasses face limitations, as a result, this paper validates the free focusing performance of both quasi-Maxwellian view and Maxwellian view, compares their field of view and eye rotation tolerance, and finally proposes a holographic AR system design based on quasi-Maxwellian view to allow for larger eye-box movement and free focusing.
