Numerical Analysis of Flow and Temperature Fields for Jet in Cross Flow

The paper presents calculated three-dimensional flow and temperature fields for jet in cross flow. The Reynolds equations combined with a ‘universal’ form of the k-ε model are solved by a finite-difference method. The effects of the injection rate M, the injection angle Ψ and the azimuth angle θ on the flow and temperature fields have been studied. It is found that an oblique jet-injection with a high azimuth angle θ is dominated by a single vortex. The numerical results show a fairly good agreement with the results of experiment conducted by the authors.
