N2 - We realized highly sensitive ionic current sensing system with optical observation for discriminating a wide diversity of sizes of bacteria (0.15∼10 μm) in biological samples with many contaminants. The proposed system enables us to discriminate 1% size difference of each sample within 400 ms. This highly sensitive ionic current sensing system with optical observation might provide a new sensing scheme to detect a single bacteria based on their sizes, shapes, colors, and stainability.
