Rotating bending tests and tension-compression fatigue tests on non-combustible magnesium alloy were carried out to investigate effect of mean stress on fatigue strength at N=107 The ignition point of non-combustible magnesium alloys is about 300 K higher than that of normal magnesium alloys because of calcium addition. It was clarified as follows. (1) In the range of σm MPa, fatigue strength at N=107 of small hole specimens was about 30-150% higher than that of small crack specimens. (2) In the range of σm>100MPa, fatigue strength at N=107 of small hole specimens decreased because of static cracks initiating around small hole at the first loading. (3) In the range of σmax0.2, fatigue strength at N=10 7 of smooth specimens was estimated using modified Goodman diagram.
