Monoenergetic X-rays extracted from synchrotron radiation were detected by two kinds of Nb-based superconducting tunnel junctions. Each of junctions had been fabricated by using different fabrication processes. Measurements were carried out under severe noisy circumstances. A cooled-FET preamplifier was employed to improve the signal to noise ratio. Pulse height distributions of the output signal of the preamplifier were obtained for monoenergetic X-rays in a range of 4 to 15 keV. Values of the energy for single electron collection were found to exhibit a nonlinear dependence on the energy of incident X-rays.
