N2 - The Vp anisotropies of two amphibole-rich rocks and two biotite-amphibole-rich rocks were measured under high-pressure conditions (up to 1.0 GPa), and calculated based on the physical properties and lattice-preferred orientation (LPO) of amphibole and biotite. The results of these studies clearly demonstrated the strong effects of the LPO of amphibole and biotite on Vp anisotropies. Previous studies pointed out the importance of [001] of amphibole and (001) of biotite for Vp anisotropy. In addition to these axes and poles, (100) of amphibole strongly affected the Vp anisotropy of the sample rocks.
