N2 - The influence of lubricant constituents on wear of UHMWPE was analyzed in multi-directional pin-on-disk tester. It was found that the co-existence (LP5) of both LαDPPC of higher concentration and γ-globulin of normal concentration produced the similar wear to dilute solution of bovine serum. It was shown that combinations of different materials could improve friction and wear properties in both lubricants. The results show that the active constituents in lubricants can attack or protect the rubbing surfaces depending on materials and operating conditions.
