N2 - A numerical study on the fuselage configurations of reusable launch vehicles (RLVs) has been conducted. The models for the numerical simulations were the models which wind tunnel experiments were conducted previously (named in this paper as triangle and square) and a new proposal one which modified the cross sectional configuration. (named as modified triangle) The results from triangle and square models showed that in supersonic region, the formations of separated vortex on the fuselage surfaces are quite different from subsonic case. With the results from modified triangle model, it is obvious that changing the separation lines has the effect to enlarge the region which separated vortex develops.
