We report here a case of syphilis in a pregnant woman. A 27-year-old pregnant woman (23 weeks of gestation) noticed flat warty papules in her vulvar region and slightly raised scaly patches on her palms. Two weeks later, the papules in her vulvar region disappeared but the patches on her palms increased and also developed on her soles, and enanthem with white macules appeared in her buccal mucosa. A TPHA test performed at 18 weeks of gestation was negative. Serologic tests for syphilis were again performed at 25 weeks of gestation, and the results were positive. The eruption cleared after 4 weeks of oral administration of amoxicillin. She successfully gave birth to a baby boy at 37 weeks of gestation. The TPHA-IgM titer of the baby has been negative since the day of his birth, suggesting that Treponema pallidum was not transmitted to the baby.
