The deformation and dynamic behavior mechanism of submerged marine frame structures with circular arches and membrane are in principle of a nonconservative nature as circulatory system, since the follower type hydrostatic pressure works vertically to its deformed surface at all times. Disturbance forces of various types, which are omnipresent in a marine environment, may be the most serious factor and occur complexity for dynamic behavior of a circular arch framework undergoing large deflections.<BR>This paper deals with a characteristic analysis on chaotic dynamics of the circular arch subjected to follower forces. For that purpose, the governing equations for finite deformations and dynamic behavior of the circular arch are defined in a monoclinically convected coordinate description. Therefore, by investigating time histories of motion, phase plane portraits and stability region charts of the disturbed equilibrium in an excitation field, the chaotic behavior of a circular arch is clarified to take an entirely different phase from Duffing system.
