兼好南朝忠臣説の形成--『春湊浪話』以前 (特集 近世における古典の受容と形成)

Yoshida-Kenko was a pro-Southern Dynasty poet. A series of such discourses had got around during the late Edo Period and the Taisho Period. This discursive phenomenon allegedly originated in the mid-Edo Period, more precisely with Doi-Tsunehira's essay on Kenko in Shunso-rowa. Absurd as it seems now, Doi's view is actually based on not a few sources; the tales about the Southern Dynasty of the early Edo Period, a bogus edition of Entairyaku, Taihei-ki-hiden-rijin-sho, some annotation books on Turedure-gusa, and others. With those earlier texts, Doi constructed the profile of the poet at the time of the rise of a historical view that supported the legitimacy of the Southern Dynasty. Thus it is necessary to trace the history of the discourses not only back to the mid-Edo Period but further backward.
