内容の説明

Products, decisions, and judgement are increasingly controlled, shaped, governed or regulated by algorithms. Yet, these algorithms are often ‘black boxes’, identifying that there is still lots of obscurity surrounding their operation. To prevent that this leads to either under- or over-regulation, a better understanding of the debates on algorithms across disciplines is warranted. Therefore, the proposal suggests the organization of a multidisciplinary international symposium by bringing together experts from with a background in technology, economics, sociology, and ethics to formulate suggestions on an appropriate regulatory framework for algorithms. The proposal will further apply the suggestions interdisciplinary by looking at various fields of law, including for example financial law, competition law, contract law and fundamentals of law.
