Abstract
Rseudoregma bambucicota is a subtropical aphid with a distinc tsoldier caste, Iufiel dstudies over four years in southern Kyushu, Japan, the peak numbers of
soldiers corresponded precisely with the seasonal development of larvae with wing pads (immaturseexuparae). The soldiers are evidently produced mainly to defend the
immature sexualparae, but, as the sexual phase of this species is unknown in Japan, these'sexuparae are apparently useless.
