Abstract

An accurate method for analyzing two dimensional electromagnetic scattering from periodic arrays of metallic cylinders with arbitrary cross section is proposed. A simple formula to calculate the scattered fields is presented using the generalized scattering matrix combined with the modal method. Numerical examples show that the convergence of the solutions is very fast and the accuracy is very high.
