Abstract

The visco-elastic behavior of membranes under conditions of constant temperatures or declining temperatures was investigated by introducing viscoelasticity and temperature susceptibility of a roofing felt and a bonding asphalt. The validity of the visco-elastic analysis method is discussed by comparisons of calculated tensile loads with observed ones in the joint opening test.
