Abstract
The ion-capturing property of the ionized gels has been investigated in order to examine the possibility for utilizing them for solving the heavy-metals environmental pollution problem. It has been demonstrated that, irrespective of polarity of the heavy-metal ions, the ion-capturing efficiency of the gels is very high compared with other adsorbents such as zeolite.
