Abstract

Research projects on the development of ocean measurement systems are surveyed focusing on a series of projects in the Research Institute for Applied Mechanics, Kyushu University. A wave rider buoy for measuring directional distribution of the wave energy, a spar buoy for wind and wave measurements, subsurface buoy systems for the ocean current research, surface buoy system for the research on the upper ocean mixed layer and underwater robots for space continuous measurements of the current and chemical properties such as dissolved CO2 are introduced.
