Abstract

During 1993-1996, we had four patients of tuberculous cervical lymphadenitis. One of them was one year old. It is necessary to rule out tuberculous lymphadenitis, when we see patients with cervical lymph node swelling. Open biopsy is useful for the diagnosis of tuberculous lymphadenitis. ESR, tuberculin skin test, sputum test and PCR assays for Mycobacterium tuberculosis are also useful for the diagnosis.
