Abstract

A theory of spiral structure formation has been formulated in magnetized rotating plasmas subjected to various kind of instabilities such as the collisional drift wave instability, flute mode instability due to centrifugal force and Kelvin-Helmhotz instability. The characteristic features of spiral structures observed experimentally in ECR plasmas are shown to be reproduced by our theory.
