Themally-activated technologies for co-generation applications

The paper presents the potential of thermally-activated technologies in co-generation applications, in particular the aspects of electricity generation and cooling or heating in a distributed or centralized plant. Such thermally-activated technologies have been developed to the extent it maximizes the overall conversion efficiency of the plant as waste heat are being recovered to power the cooling and heating applications. The examples are highlighted in this paper demonstrate the viability of the thermally-activated technologies for co-generation applications as well as how careful planning by energy planners in an economy could also be used to achieve higher energy efficiency and mitigating the emission of greenhouse gases (GHG) for environmental care.
