Abstract

We present a neutron scattering study performed in the field-induced magnetic phase occurring above a critical field Hc 1 ≃ 1.5 - 2 T in Cs3Cr2Br9 for the field applied parallel and perpendicular to the dimers. The magnetic structure reveals some important differences between the two field orientations. The spin dynamics study shows that the lowest excitation is gapped above Hc 1 in both cases but behaves differently close to the critical field.
