Abstract
We report the first example of a μ-η1:η1-N2 dinuclear RuII complex with a polyamine ligand and elucidate the structure by means of X-ray analysis. The N=N stretching vibration has been observed at 1994 cm-1 by Raman spectroscopy, which is the lowest value of all the known N2-coordinated RuII complexes. This low value strongly suggests the N=N bond is primed for activation.
