Abstract

The dendron derivatives, which have methylthio groups at peripheral sites acting as multiple anchor on the surface of Au, and a Rhodamine B (RhB) molecule at the focal point as a fluorescent marker, have been successfully synthesized. These dendrons on the surface of Au are expected to show a cone shape form, and to act as a pseudo single molecule on a spacer isolating functional site at the focal point from both the surface and the neighboring dendron molecules.
