Abstract

Magnetic properties of molecular alloy complexes, TDAE-(C60)1-x(C70)x (x ≈ 0.2, 0.4 and 0.5), where TDAE is tetrakis-(dimethylamino)ethylene, have been first studied based on the measurements of the Faraday-balance magnetization. Comparison of the magnetic properties of the present alloy complexes with those of TDAE-C60 and -C70 has been made. It has been found that all these complexes show the ferromagnetic transition but its Curie temperature Tc(x) is suppressed with the increase of x (the amount of C70) such as Tc(0.5) = 6.1 K compared with that of pure TDAE-C60 [Tc(0) = 17.5 K]. This suppression is, however, not so strong as one may expect for quasi-one-dimensional itinerant ferromagnet.
