Abstract

We carried out research into an absorber to remove EDA (+) fibronectin (EDA(+)FN) from the blood by using heparin. The elucidation of the EDA(+)FN recognition structure of the heparin is necessary for the development of the effective material. In this study, the examination of recognition structure for EDA (+)FN was carried out by using desulfate heparin and the heparin oligomer. The association constant (KA) of EDA(+)FN and the heparin decreased gradually (1.0E + 8 ← 1.0 E+7 M-1) with desulfate treatment. There was hardly the change in KA with the decline of the molecular weight. As for the EDA (+) FN recognition structure of the heparin, our results showed that it was a low molecular weight level (less than MW= 1.0 E + 3). We also found that the peculiar arrangement structure was not necessary.
