Abstract

We investigated the excitation energy transfer in polymer light-emitting diodes by measuring the temperature dependence of the PL intensity and fluorescence lifetime of a single layer light-emitting polymer (LEP) and multi-layers (PEDOT-PSS/LEP and LEP/Ca/Ag). We prepared several films with different thicknesses by changing the concentration of xylene solution and spin coating condition. We observed significant differences in the temperature dependence of PL intensity among these three structures. The experimental results suggest that exciton transfer is influenced by the interface in multi-layer structures. We also found that the polymer morphology has great effect on the PL characteristics.
