Abstract
Results are presented of a study on structural response and design of large scale floating structure. Computation programs developed for precise analyses off the dynamic elastic response of the structure is introduced. Hydroelastic problem is solved and the structural response of the structure is discussed. General dynamic response characteristics of large scale floating structure is also discussed from a viewpoint of structural design using a simple modeling of beam on elastic foundation, and resonance avoidance design of the large scale floating structure is discussed. Accuracy and validity of the simple beam modeling to the structural design is examined by comparing analyses results with precise analysis results.
