Abstract

The stress function is useful for solving problems associated with elasticity theory. We report here an integral form of the stress function for a stress field produced by dislocation loops in anisotropic crystals. The derivation of the stress function is supposed to be easily comprehensible, because it is found by solving Poisson's equation, whose properties are well known. As a result, we will be able to estimate some physical quantities of arbitrarily-shaped dislocation loops in anisotropic crystals.
