Abstract
The rocks of the area are lithostratigraphically grouped into four rock-units, the Koyama and Yoshii Groups, and the Sugeno Chert and Uji Formations. Spicular chert was deposited on the lower flank to foot of a seamount capped by a limestone build-up in an open-ocean setting, and radiolarians-bearing chert formed on the foot to ocean floor surrounding the seamount. -from English summary
