Abstract

Simultaneous immobilization of myoglobin protein (Mb) and synthetic porphyrins was conducted by using synthetic bilayer membrane composed of a phosphate-bearing amphiphile. Electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra of the composite cast film containing Mb and copper porphyrins clearly demonstrate that molecular orientation of Mb and porphyrins against the bilayer surface are controlled independently.
