Abstract
The one-dimensional models for hierarchical bunching were discussed. A uniform state with equal spacing was found to be linearly unstable and bunching clusters were created. A continuum version of the lattice model with linear repulsive was studied. Analysis shows that the coarsening dynamics was similar to a one-dimensional version of the Ostwald ripening.
