A self-sorting process of Thio and Pery employing organogel with p-n heterojunction points to design a photoelectronic conversion system was described. Absorption spectra of the process in the gel phase are found to be blue-shifted in comparison with those of their monomeric state, indicating that chromophore moieties are π-overlapped in an H-aggregate manner. Dissociation temperatures of the gelators in the self sorting gel system indicate that Thio and Pery self-assemble independently and do not interfere in each other's aggregation-dissociation process. The gelators are found to have a chiral cholesterol moieties, such that the aggregates of these molecules are CD active. The microscopic examination of these gel systems show that the aggregates of Thio and Pery have diameters of approximately 20 nm and that mixing of these gelators do not affect the aggregation structures.
