Abstract

We applied various shape-controlled TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) for electrochemical reduction to produce an alcoholic compound. Catalytic activity depended on the shape of the TiO2 NPs. Computational studies and extensive characterization suggest that high efficiency and selectivity can be achieved over the TiO2 NPs by utilizing a combination of {001} and {101} facets.
