Abstract

A rigorous and efficient method for the analysis of a rectangular waveguide E-H cross junction is presented. Using the Fourier transform technique and the image theory, we have successfully analyzed the E-H cross junction of rectangular waveguide. The field in the cavity region is expressed by Fourier integrals, whereas the fields in the arm-waveguides are expressed in terms of the normal modes. By using the method of moments, we have a set of linear equations whose dimension is smaller than that of the conventional mode matching analysis. The numerical results for a magic T-junction and an E-H plane three port junction are presented and found to be in good agreement with literature.
