Abstract

RhH(PPh₃)₄ and cis-1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethylene (dppv) catalyze the exchange of sulfur atoms between sulfur and organic polysulfides. The exchange of dialkyl trisulfides with sulfur proceeds at a high efficiency within 5 min at room temperature yielding a mixture of organic polysulfides.
