Abstract

Three-body dynamics of deuteron scattering is described in relativistically covariant form to order 1 c2. For d+58Ni scattering at 700 MeV, the Thomas-precession correction to the internal motion of the deuteron is appreciable for Ayy at angles smaller than 25° where experimental data are available, while the Lorentz-contraction correction to the motion is quite small at the forward angles.
