    Abstract

A rigorous analytical approach for the three dimensional electromagnetic scattering from layered crossed-arrays of circular cylinders was discussed. It was found that the cylinders in each layer were infinitely long and parallel while the cylinder axes were rotated by 90° in each successive layer. It was also found that the problem of three-dimensional electromagnetic scattering from multilayered crossed-arrays of circular cylinders were formulated using the lattice-sums technique and the T-matrix of cylindrical objects. The results show that the generalized reflection and transmission matrices for the multilayered crossed-arrays were obtained by a simple matrix calculus.
