Abstract

In this paper, we focused on reduction of reflected shock wave generated between two bodies in hypersonic flow field. Problem of the flow field was modeled as flow field between the flat plate with wedge-shaped at the top and slender body in hypersonic flow field. The slender body has three cross section configuration patterns (circle, triangle and square). We carried out 3-D numerical calculation for the modeled flow field and conducted wind tunnel experiment. From their results, the slender body having triangle cross section can reduce the reflected shock wave.
