    Abstract

This study is to clarify what kinds of factors are important to attract international conventions for Japanese researchers. Moreover, this study discusses the differences between those who have hosted international convention and those who are willing to host international convention in the future by using machine learning. Even though Japanese government has begun MICE promotion activities, researches on MICE industry are still limited and just get started in Japan. In analysis of the data, respondents are classified into 2 groups; those who have hosted international convention as experienced group and those who are willing to host international convention in the future as non-experienced group. A machine learning was used to analyze the difference of perspectives on the importance of site selection criteria between those who have hosted international convention and those who are willing to host international convention in the future. The results of machine learning show the differences between those who have hosted international conventions and those who are willing to host international conventions in the future.
