Abstract

The influence of the gas flow direction in the high temperature YBCO crystallization heat treatment and the fabrication of a long Y123 tape conductor by reel-to-reel system, using the modified TFA-MOD method were investigated. In high temperature heat treatment, the films were traveled in along tube furnace held at 1036K in a forming gas of Ar, 0.1% and 6.3% H2O by reel-to-reel system. The multi-coating process was applied using the new starting materials to obtain high Ic performance. It was found that the transverse gas flow to the length is necessary to obtain the uniform reaction for a long tape production.
