Abstract
Azo-polymers were prepared by co-polymerization of monomers having push-pull type azo-group and phenyl benzoate group, and infiltrated into a SiO 2 inverse opal film. The periodicity of the inverse opal film was ca.300nm and a volume fraction of SiO 2 was ca.0.2. The wavelength reflection band was shifted from 480nm to 703 nm by infiltration of the azo-polymers in the inverse opal film. The photochemical change in the wavelength of the reflection band was caused by irradiation of polarized light through the formation of uniaxially molecular orientation.
