Abstract

Polyanilines with various degrees of N-grafting have been synthesized by using ring-opening copolymerization of glycidyl phenyl ether (1,2-epoxy-3-phenoxypropane). The obtained polymer has good solubility in common organic solvents. Optical and thermal properties of the N-grafted polyanilines varying with the degree of the N-grafting and length of the graft side chain have been revealed. The polymer received electrochemical oxidation at about 0.40V versus Ag+/Ag in a CH3CN solution of 0.10M LiBF4.
