Prediction of strength and deformation of cemented geomaterials

Abstract

Cement stabilized soils of various cement contents were prepared to evaluate effects of the cementation between soil particles on mechanical properties. Based on experimental and theoretical considerations, a new equation of internal dissipated energy work of soil and the failure state concept of soils with cementation have been proposed, and an elasto-plastic constitutive model incorporating the effects of cementation is presented. In order to verify the effectiveness of this model, the predicted behaviors of cement stabilized soil are compared with experimental results.
