Abstract
The electronic and vibrational spectra of the benzene-toluene heterotrimer ions, B1T2 + and B2T1 +, were observed using the tunable near-infrared and infrared lasers and the tandem mass spectrometer. The electronic spectra of both ions display the CR band, demonstrating that the positive charge is not localized on one molecule. The results were explained by the CR interaction between B2 and T.
