    Abstract

Poly(vinylene carbonate) (PVCA) and poly(β-hydroxyvinyl N-substituted carbamate)s (PHCs) were synthesized by radical polymerization and aminolysis reactions of PVCA, respectively. The relation between the surface aggregation states of these polymers and the blood platelet adhesion behaviors on them was examined. Results showed that the number and activation degree of platelets on the various PHC films were strongly correlated to their surface/interfacial free energies, while such was not the case for the PVCA film.
