Abstract

The temperature-dependent current-voltage (IV) characteristics of Zerner tunneling junctions of Pb(Ti,Zr)O 3/SrTiO 3 at cryogenic temperature were analyzed. The ultraviolet light induced a prominent photovoltaic effect at all temperatures down to at least 50 K. The reverse bias current in the dark increased with decreasing temperature. The results show that the temperature dependence of reverse bias current in the dark was due to the tunneling from the Pb(Ti,Zr)O 3 band to the SrTiO 3 band.
