Abstract
Organic field-effect transistors using oligomers and polymers with a phenylenevinylene repeat unit were fabricated. In the case of oligo- phenylenevinylenes, films were prepared by vacuum-sublimation. Polyphenylene- vinylene films were prepared via water soluble-precursor route. Field-effect mobility of 0.13 cm2V-1s-1 was observed in oligo-phenylenevinylene films, which indicated that holes move via intermolecular π-π stacking. In the case of polyphenylenevinylene, p- and n-type carrier transport were observed depending on the electrodes use.
